Reflections: Death of a horse - Part 1

SUGAR, My first and best horse, ever.

I had a Shetland pony when I was little. I remember my grandfather driving home for Christmas in his truck, with three Shetlands, their heads looking over the truck racks, as he pulled into home. There was one for me and one for each of my cousins. It was a good day for a four-year-old boy, but nothing to compare with the day I got my first real horse.

Her name was Sugar, a three-year-old Quarter Horse mare. She was buckskin and the prettiest thing I had ever seen in my whole life. I had spent my weekends and summers working for my grandfather, in all Read the rest of this entry »

Training Software Cuts Down on Employee Training Costs

Companies that require training, either by the Department of Labor (DOL), or Federal Department of Agriculture (FDA) or because of the nature of the work, often find it difficult to logistically and effectively train their employees. All manner of companies including life science and high tech companies require employee training. The DOL, FDA, ISO, and other associations regulate these training sessions and require a certain amount number of hours to be completed. It is difficult to deliver employees the training they need when they work on different schedules, require different types of training, and have quotas to fill. Poetry: Echoes

Echoes of your love

Were coming

In my wild dreams

The horses were there

Taking me

To all the places in the world

Riding for the echoes

Of your love

In my wild dreams

The horses were white

Stallions of the universe

Riding for your echoes of love

Looking to see

Your beauty

Could be taken by me

Riding together

On the echoes of love

The horses of the universe

Meeting the white stallions

Riding the echoes of love together

What a gift it has been

In this world

Being able to hear

Your wild echoes of love

And taking the stallions of the universe

Riding towards the echoes of love together

Tips for traveling by train in Europe

I took a trip to Europe in October of 2006 that included four countries. Most of my travel was by train, but part was by car. Here are my helpful hints: First off, never rent a car in London. It just isn’t worth it. You have to learn how to drive on the wrong side of the road in heavy traffic- not a good place to learn. I found this out two months later when I got a ticket in the mail for being on the wrong street that was only for buses. In London, you can buy a London pass for attractions and for a few dollars a day you can add Read the rest of this entry »
